Best Books for Your Skin-E

Updated: Jan 30, 2020

Doctors read ALL the time. We are most likely reading the latest literature within medial journals or textbooks that will help us take better care of our patients. Three of the books that I have been reading lately were written by dermatologists that conduct research on hair loss. One is a textbook called Fundamentals of Ethnic Hair: The Dermatologist’s Perspective by Drs. Crystal Aguh and Ginette A. Okoye.

Dr. Yolanda Lenzy wrote Getting to the Root: A Dermatologist and Cosmetologist’s Guide to Understanding HAIR! Both of these books are great for the medical community and cosmetologists to learn more about hair care practices. Dr. Lenzy’s book is a journey through the types of hair loss. Dermatologists and cosmetologists often work together to address hair loss in patients.

The third is also by Dr. Aguh. She wrote a book entitled 90 Days to Beautiful Hair: 50 Dermatologist Approved Tips to Un’lock’ the Hair of Your Dreams. This book was written for patients that are looking for advice from a dermatologist on what to do and not do for their hair. There is so much information on the internet that is not fact checked. This is a trusted source to answer some of the most popular questions when it comes to hair care. Happy Reading!
